Job description Ruminant Livestock Research Scientist Location: Hillsborough Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week Salary: £37,694 per annum About AFBI & the Agri-Environment Branch The Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) delivers world-class science to support agriculture, the environment, and the wider economy. Sponsored by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), AFBI provides evidence-based research and monitoring that informs government policy and promotes sustainability in Northern Ireland and beyond. Job Role Delivery of the scientific tasks within a range livestock production research projects. This work will include literature reviews, preparing reports and protocols, recording scientific data, manual handling of livestock and agricultural equipment (outdoor based activities), reviewing and analysis of data and preparation of scientific outputs (papers, presentations) Essential Criteria A PhD in agriculture, animal science or relevant biological science related to animals Or A degree or higher in agriculture, animal science or relevant biological science related to animals, AND 2 years demonstrable experience working in a research capacity post qualification And Proven experience of conducting scientific studies involving animals and of conducting statistical analysis of scientific results and demonstrate experience of presenting research findings to a range of audience e.g. farmers, academic audiences etc.) Evidence of one full peer reviewed paper published in a scientific journal. * *Publish is defined as papers either accepted for publication or published Other Apply Now!
