Senior Project Manager – Nuclear, Egis UK
Location: UK-wide Type: Full-time Sector Exposure: Nuclear, Water, Environment, Defence
Join Egis as a Senior Project Manager to support key clients delivering transformative infrastructure programmes across the UK. Reporting to the Nuclear Project Lead, you’ll be at the heart of our Project Management delivery capability — supporting clients across the full project delivery lifecycle. You’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders, delivery teams, and supply chain partners to deliver excellent project management services, compliance and performance. You’ll help shape smarter, safer, and more resilient infrastructure.
You’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring client projects and programmes run smoothly and to the highest standards.
How you’ll grow

* Lead significant NEC3/4 contracts with confidence and strategic clarity
* Work shoulder-to-shoulder with industry leaders and clients

Role Responsibilities
Pre-Contract Leadership
* Lead strategy and baseline development
* Embed safety in all activities and outputs
* Scope projects and build accurate cost & feasibility studies
* Lead in compiling business cases, governance, tender documents and reviewing submissions
* Evaluate tender documentation with sharp insight
* Identify risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
* Collaborate closely with stakeholders during all phases
Post-Contract Oversight
* Lead project delivery and contract administration
* Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project managers
* Take charge of benefits realisation
* Lead multi-disciplinary teams with authority and respect, aligning outputs to schedule
* Actively monitor project expenditure and manage cash flow with commercial discipline and provide regular updates to senior leadership
* Proactively deliver to project schedule and quality requirements, driving innovation and efficiency through outputs and methodologies
* Provide excellent organisational management and final account preparation
* Navigate change orders and variations with authority
* Build a collaborative culture and lead on dispute avoidance forums, resolve claims and disputes including all related activity
* Ensure appropriate record keeping and contract compliance
* Ensure project activities are executed in accordance with governance, safety standards and regulatory requirements
Contract and Commercial Excellence
* Experience of delivering large complex procurement projects
* Manage and administer NEC3/4 contracts on the client side
* Drive budget control, payment valuations, and monthly certifications with commercial teams
* Oversee forecasting and cost planning to ensure financial precision
* Draft key contractual communications—EWNs, Compensation Events, and more
* Carry delegated authority responsibilities on behalf of clients as required
Operational Support & Process Improvement
* Leverage cross-sector insights to identify opportunities
* Champion improvement of processes, templates, and tools to support project delivery and mitigate risks
* Lead the identification of opportunities for process improvement and implementing best practice
* Maintain project databases, visuals, and supporting collateral
* Contribute to internal reporting, governance, and delivery reviews
* Lead capability development, readiness activities, and cross-functional integration as delivered to client requirements
Qualifications
* Extensive experience delivering projects as Project Manager
* Understanding of NEC 4 forms of contract
* Experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams
* Experience of stakeholder management
* Knowledge and application of CDM
* Knowledge of Safety and Environmental legislation, practices and policies
* Strong capability in application of project management practices, methodologies, and tools
* Customer-centric approach to delivering a high-quality output
* Proficient technical knowledge of the UK Power Sector and assets (Overhead Lines, Substations, Protection & Control, Underground Cables) is preferred but not essential
Qualifications – Essential
* Degree or HNC in an engineering discipline, or relevant experience
* Must already have the Right to Work in the UK or be able to secure this prior to commencement
Qualifications – Desirable
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
* Membership of IET / IAM leading to Chartered Status
* Appropriate management qualification (APM; IPMA Level C and/or Prince2/PMP)

* Experience operating within client organisations over 8–10 years (or 8 with chartership)
* Experience delivering major projects with sector experience in nuclear, water, environment, defence, rail, highways or other major infrastructure sectors
* Ability to integrate inputs across people, process, technology, and regulatory interfaces
* In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management
* Familiarity with full construction lifecycle
* Proficient with office IT and contract management systems
* Experience with common PM methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Prince2)
* Strong appetite for continuous learning and self-development
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related subject
* Full membership of a chartered body such as APM (MAPM) or working toward chartership
* Valid CSCS card; NEC (3/4) accreditation preferred
* Right to work in the UK
