A growing group of specialist businesses is seeking an experienced and detail-drivenManagement Accountantto join its finance team. The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of multiple group entities. Your primary focus will be on delivering timely management accounts, conducting reconciliations, and providing clear financial insight to stakeholders.
You’ll be working across a group structure that currently includes 11 companies, 8 of which are actively trading. This role offers excellent exposure to a variety of financial tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Management Accounts
* Prepare monthly management accounts to trial balance in line with internal deadlines
* Post all relevant month-end journals, including for payroll, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets
* Maintain and reconcile all balance sheet accounts with accuracy
Financial Reporting & Analysis
* Reconcile weekly data between operational systems and the financial accounting system
* Perform sales reconciliations to ensure complete revenue capture
* Prepare weekly management information (MI) reports for senior leadership
Purchase Ledger Oversight
* Manage and support the purchase ledger process in collaboration with the wider finance team
* Oversee and process bi-monthly payment runs, including setting up payments via banking platforms
* Liaise with suppliers as needed to resolve queries and ensure smooth operation
Compliance & Support
* Prepare and submit VAT and intermediary returns
* Complete regular returns to the Office for National Statistics (ONS)
* Support cash flow forecasting and ensure timely payment scheduling
* Carry out ad hoc finance tasks and projects as required
What We’re Looking For
* 2 years’ experience in a management accounting position
* A total of 5+ years of experience within finance or accounting roles
* Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent experience in a finance team)
* Strong technical ability in preparing management accounts and journal posting
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level – capable of handling analysis, models, and reporting)
* Excellent communication skills and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
* A proactive, detail-focused approach and a genuine commitment to accuracy in financial reporting
