Healthcare Support Worker - Cardiology Unit (Band 2)

We have opportunities for reliable, enthusiastic, patient centred and caring individuals to join our Healthcare Assistant team!

The desired candidate must have good communication skills, be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and have a caring and compassionate nature.

Full time and part time roles available


Main duties of the job

At all times treat patients, service users, families, visitors andcolleagues with dignity and respect to deliver compassionate care,exercising discretion and behaving in a manner consistent withAiredale NHS Foundation Trust Right Care Values.o To maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work and work within theHealthcare Support Worker Code of Conduct.o Work in a collaborative and co-operative manner with othermembers of the care team to meet the holistic needs of patients andcarers.o To establish and maintain effective communication and relationshipswith the multi-disciplinary team, respecting the equality and diversityof each and every person he/she/they comes into contact within thecourse of his/her/their business.o Uphold the privacy and dignity of patients at all times.o Work in line with Trust policies and procedures and within scope ofcompetence, undertaking mandatory training and essential skillstraining as identified for the role.o Contribute to the development of the clinical area, throughcontribution of new ideas to improve patient care/experience and byescalating concerns appropriately.

This position is not currently eligible for a certificate of sponsorship in line with Home Office guidance as it does not appear on the skilled worker visa occupation list.

If you currently hold a different type of visa allowing you to work in the UK we would welcome an application from you. If your visa expires or there is a change in status during your employment, the Trust will be required to review your employment which may result in the termination of your employment to comply with the relevant immigration legislation


Person Specification


Qualifications and personal statement should include.

* Possess or be willing to work towards the care certificate
* Be able to demonstrate basic literacy and numeracy skills required for the post
* Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care
* Functional skills level 1 numeracy


Experience

* Experience of working in a formal care setting or as an informal carer
* Previous experience of dealing with the public


Knowledge

* Understanding of what 'confidentiality' is and how you put into practice
* Good listening, written and verbal communication skills
* Understanding of equality and diversity and how you put it into practice
* Be well organised happy to work in a team but also able to use own initiative
* Able to follow direct instructions
* Demonstrate literacy in IT
