Job Title: Assistant Chef
Location: Gwithian (across three of our sites)
Job Type: Full-Time - Beginning of April to end of October
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Chef to support our Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering high-quality dishes and maintaining excellent kitchen standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about food who is looking to develop their culinary skills in a professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily food preparation and service
* Prepare ingredients, sauces, and basic dishes according to recipes and instructions
* Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
* Ensure proper food storage and stock rotation (FIFO)
* Support with receiving and checking deliveries
* Help maintain a safe and organised kitchen environment
* Step in to assist during busy service periods
Requirements
* Previous kitchen experience preferred (but not essential for the right candidate)
* Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if required
