Wear referrals have an exciting opportunity as they are recruiting for a motivated and experienced Patient Care Assistant to join their day team! In this role you will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills working in a referral hospital. Patient Care Assistant's are an essential part of the hospital team. Working alongside the clinical team, the ideal candidate will have a good background in animal handling, with previous veterinary care experience preferred. High standards of patient care and premises management need to be maintained at all times, and the PCAs are key to achieving this. The right candidate will want to ensure the highest standard of care is provided for our patients and clients. The role is varied, but includes: Rotate through all areas of the hospital, including wards, ICU, prep and theatre Support with diagnostics including laboratory work Giving oral medication under supervision Completing paperwork to ensure accurate monitoring of all in-patient care Appropriate husbandry and care of patients, as directed Deep Cleaning kennels, the hospital and other areas Operating the laundry equipment Supporting the Clinical and Reception team Supporting nurse team as required Benefits 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays Birthday Leave Staff discount schemes Life Assurance Enhanced sickness pay Enhanced equal family leave Recruitment referral reward scheme Employer contribution pension scheme Wellness program including: Employee assistance program Eyecare voucher scheme Free annual Flu jab Cycle to work scheme This is a 12 month fixed term position, with view to continue on a permanent position for the right candidate. The position is full time, 40 hours per week over 5 days a week plus 2 weekends out of 6 and 2 bank holidays per year. Working between hours of 7.30am and 7.30pm, no night work.
