Head of Network and BOS consulting – Ericsson
Job Summary
The objective of Ericsson Consulting is to deliver engagements that generate value for our customers and enable greater value to Ericsson. We are looking for a highly experienced Techno‑Operational Consulting Leader to lead the NW & BOS Transformation Consulting practice and to be part of the Global Consulting Leadership Team that leads business and offerings across Ericsson.
Role Overview
The Consulting Leader will work with senior executives at Ericsson customers, leading Telcos and Enterprises in technology road‑mapping and consulting engagements. The role is global and requires international travel based on customer demand.
Responsibilities
* Drive global P&L and define objectives of the NW & BOS Transformation Consulting domain
* Identify, develop and manage the portfolio of leading NW & BOS Transformation Consulting offerings
* Identify consulting opportunities by working with technology professionals – Sales and Solution Architects
* Nurture and convert opportunities while contributing actively to consulting proposals
* Guide and lead delivery of consulting projects/programs across the globe
* Engage as a thought leader at CxO level
* Lead the NW & BOS Transformation consulting team comprising senior members
* Manage stakeholders in consulting communities across geographies
* Contribute outside your domain to reach overall business objectives
Domain Expertise
* AN, Orchestration & Automation transformation
o Good understanding of the autonomous networks e2e methodology and orchestration & automation transformation approaches taken by industry leaders and early adopters, especially from an operations and systems perspective.
o Thorough appreciation of the challenges and impacts of Orchestration & Automation transformation, and practical experience in transformation delivery programs (e.g., organizational impacts, process impacts, systems integration and operational transformation).
* 5G Core and 5G Network
o Good understanding of 5G Core – particularly the evolution towards 5G SA deployment options.
o Knowledge of end‑to‑end technology evolution beyond Core – especially RAN (and Transport) to advise clients on 5G technology evolution.
o Strong understanding of business implications of the 5G Core (and other technologies) and how 5G use cases / monetization are enabled by technology options and road‑maps.
* Telco Cloud transformation – both Virtualization and Cloud Native
o Knowledge of cloud transformation challenges, impacts and approaches taken by industry leaders and early adopters, particularly from technology and deployment perspectives.
o Practical experience in Telco Cloud Transformation programs and cloud operating models.
o Knowledge of CICD / DevOps and related operational processes / impacts.
o Expertise on the operational implications of moving 5G Core and other network elements to Virtualized or Cloud Native environments.
* Operational transformation & operating models to support 5G Evolution
o Competence in defining operational transformation approaches for evolution to 5G and various 5G opportunities.
o Capability to define aspects of operating models for 5G Evolution – such as processes (performance management, fault management, assurance, automation, field services, etc.), metrics/KPIs, and high‑level OSS systems knowledge (inventory, assurance, activation, etc.).
* Strong understanding of new Agile methodologies and DevOps WoW
* Impelling OSS systems and support strategies
o Understanding of operational trends and system approaches (orchestration, automation, closed‑loop, microservices, analytics, policies, etc.) and relevant open‑source communities (OpenStack, OPNFV, ONAP, etc.).
o Awareness of the competitor vendor landscape and relative strengths with respect to Ericsson’s portfolio.
* Knowledge and certifications of standards such as TOGAF, ITIL and standard architectures such as TMF TAM/SID/ODA.
* Supporting Capability – Telco Cloud Technology
o Understanding of Telco Cloud technology trends (containers, microservices, MEC, etc.) and relevant open‑source communities.
o Understanding of public cloud enterprise solutions and their pros and cons for communication service providers.
o Understanding of Telco Cloud reference architectures.
Qualifications
* 15+ years of professional experience, including demonstrated ability to sell and deliver consulting projects.
* Proven capability to sell and deliver Core / Technology / Operational Consulting projects with a business mindset.
* Experience leading consulting business, practice and teams, with P&L accountability.
* Sound technical knowledge across Core, Cloud, RAN, Telco Orchestration, and B/OSS Transformation domains.
* Strong delivery skills:
o Ability to create plans to align technical strategies with business ambition.
o Highly experienced in formulating strategies, and defining transformation journeys.
o Proven ability to excel in fact‑based storytelling with strong influencing skills.
* Strong people and team leadership skill:
o Strong ability to coach and enable individual development.
o Proven track record of team growth and operational management of the team.
* Sound behavioural skills:
o Excellent oral and written communication skills, high orientation towards innovation and learning.
o Experience working in international and cross‑cultural environments, selling and delivering complex engagements in cross‑functional teams.
o Results‑oriented and commercial thinking.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, and preferably a Master’s in Business.
