An exciting opportunity has become available within Devon to be part of the urgent and acute inpatient mental health Occupational Therapy Team. The team aims to provide a recovery-focused Occupational Therapy (OT) service to support people in re-engaging with their ordinary lives across a 7-day service. Within the inpatient setting, we use the VdT Model of Creative Ability from admission to discharge.

Main duties of the job
This post involves working closely as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team within an inpatient setting across both units. Using the VdT MoCA, the post holder will identify treatment aims, discharge needs, and support recovery through therapeutic interventions. The post holder will support and contribute to the therapeutic timetable in collaboration with the Occupational Therapy team. Person Specification
Qualifications
* Diploma / Degree in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC registered or registration pending
* Basic IT Skills
* Basic therapeutic skills, e.g., CBT, motivational interviewing
Experience
* Some experience in mental health
* Experience working with vulnerable patients
Knowledge & Skills
* Knowledge of core OT skills
* Understanding of OT principles and theories
* Good assertiveness skills
* Professional judgment and clinical reasoning
* Ability to work independently and use initiative
* Awareness of MOHO assessments, OSA, and MOHOST
* Understanding of recovery principles
* Knowledge of Devon Partnership Trust principles and ideology
* Familiarity with Recovery Devon
* Understanding of the VdT MoCA
