Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Analytical Laboratory Technician who has a good understanding of practical analytical techniques such as HPLC, Flow Induced Dispersion Analysis (Fidabio) for the characterization and quantification of proteins, and or Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), who can apply their understanding to the development of analytical methods. They shouldenjoybeing lab based and should be inventive and creative in their approach to solving problems.
* The Laboratory Technicianwill need to be flexible and be happy tocontribute practically to other areas.
* They will lab based, assisting in getting experiments executed, including basic laboratory skills (e.g., pipetting, serial dilutions, buffer preparation)
* Assisting withpreventative maintenance, cleaning & documentation of assigned laboratory instruments.
* Assist in maintaining laboratory consumable inventories.
* They will also be responsible for experimental planning, data analysis and write up.
Qualifications, experience and skills required
* Science degree (chemistry, biochemistry or similar)
* Experience in HPLC, SPR, and or Fidabio analysis (desirable)
* Experience working in an industry or academic laboratory
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills as the Analytical Chemistwill need tointeract with internal and external stakeholders, and will need to convey complex experimental data in a simple to understand manner.
* Proficiencyin Microsoft software packages (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook etc.).
* Attention to detail with accurate record keeping and familiarity with following work instructions or SOPs.
* Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety instructions and to generate standard operating procedures, and conduct COSHH or risk assessments as necessary.
