Sales Consultant – Small Works
Global Fire and Security Systems are an independent company established in Nottingham since 1999, and have become market leaders in providing quality product solutions throughout the fire and security marketplace nationwide. Thanks to a combined wealth of knowledge and experience between our directors, Global has become industry experts in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire safety, fire suppression and security systems.
Due to continued market development, we are now seeking to appoint a Sales Consultant for our Small Works unit. You will be based at our Nottingham Head Office with travel to client sites as required.

Job Purpose
* Take full ownership of allocated sales enquiries, conduct site surveys and provide quotations to clients within set deadlines.
* Improve Global’s market position and achieve sales growth by developing new relationships and retaining/expanding existing ones across all market sectors.
* Build key internal and external customer relationships, identify business opportunities, and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
* Represent the entire range of company services to all clients, and secure commitment from clients to purchase from Global.
Key accountabilities
Sales performance
* Take full ownership of allocated sales enquiries & site surveys.
* Achieve sales targets and profit objectives as set by the company.
* Promote the company and the products and services at all times.
* Accurately record and process related documents and records.
* Produce monthly sales forecasts.
* Monitor enquiry end dates, ensuring deadlines are met.
Planning and organising
* Optimise the time available by effective planning.
* Schedule and monitor workload requirements for sales enquiries on which you are responsible.
* Design and estimate small works Life Safety and Security Systems in line with British Standards.
* Produce weekly sales enquiry status updates for Department Managers and Directors.
* Maintain up‑to‑date records and information systems.
* Maintain up‑to‑date records of contacts and business obtained.
Selling skills
* Understand and practice all‑round sales skills, including open questioning and objection handling.
* Generate and develop business from new and existing clients.
* Meet the targets set for orders by preparing and submitting detailed quotations.
* Answer to the satisfaction of the client any objections or questions raised.
About you
* Design and sales experience (field‑based) ideally within the Fire and Security industry.
* Possibly a current or former Fire Systems Engineer or Estimator, looking for a more commercial role.
* Experience of working to deadlines and agreed targets.
* Knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems and Security Systems.
