Location: Newport with travel across additional UK sites
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Rota based between 08:00 and 19:00
The Business
Our client is a well established and fast growing organisation operating within the self storage and commercial property sector. With multiple operational sites across the UK and continued expansion plans, they are recognised for delivering high standards across customer service, operational performance, and compliance.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Health and Safety professional to support and drive safety standards across the business.
The Opportunity
This opportunity is open to both experienced Health and Safety Managers and ambitious Health and Safety Officers who can clearly demonstrate the required technical capability, operational experience, and confidence to operate across a multi site environment.
The role would best suit candidates from the retail sector or similar sectors.
Reporting into senior leadership, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the company's health, safety, and fire compliance standards across operational sites.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting site audits, inspections, and risk assessments across multiple locations
Managing and supporting fire risk assessment activity and corrective actions
Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations
Supporting the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures
Delivering training and guidance to managers, supervisors, and operational teams
Advising stakeholders on compliance, legislation, and best practice
Supporting a proactive and positive safety culture across the business
Monitoring changes in legislation and ensuring compliance standards remain up to date
Managing multiple priorities and responding effectively across a varied operational environment
Requirements
Minimum 3 years recent experience within a Health and Safety role, either at Manager or Officer level
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification
NEBOSH Fire Certificate (Fire Safety and Fire Safety Management)
COSHH trained
Proven experience conducting and managing fire risk assessments
Strong background in investigations, reporting, and incident management
Experience delivering training and advising managers and supervisors
Strong understanding of current UK health and safety legislation
Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities effectively
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Full UK driving licence
