Morson Talent is working with a major player in the Energy Sector, currently seeking a proven and experienced Senior Commercial Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience with FIDIC and NEC 3&4 suite of contracts and major projects, along with knowledge of UK law and its impact on contracts and the commercial function. A good understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk, change, and claim management is essential.
You will work across multiple discipline teams to develop, implement, and operate commercial strategies and contractual agreements. The role requires a big-picture view and the ability to develop and execute innovative approaches to commercial delivery for project success.
Activities:
1. The day-to-day management of Commercial/Supply Chain Managers and/or Assistants.
2. Manage the relationship with the supplier daily.
3. Ensure all Principal Accountabilities for the contract commercial team are implemented according to procedures.
4. Oversee the development and delivery of a Commercial/Contract Strategy.
5. Manage stakeholder engagement within the relevant area.
6. Identify, define, and manage risks related to Contract Delivery or the Supplier and its Supply Chain.
7. Procurement phase: Support the procurement process & Commercial Lead, including developing the Project Contract Strategy and reviewing procurement routes for all Project Contracts. Ensure procurement schedules align with the Integrated Work Schedule and allow sufficient time for effective procurement leading to contract signing.
8. Execution phase: Lead and manage the execution of contracts, ensuring compatibility and alignment with other projects, including scope, prices, key personnel, and contract administration arrangements.
9. Closeout phase: Manage and be accountable for the contract closeout process.
Membership of a professional body such as RICS, CICES, IOB, or CIPS is desirable.
