The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced manual machinist to join our business on full time/permanent basis. Daily responsibilities are to perform turning operations on mid to large manual lathes, working to tight tolerances and deadlines. Competitive salary offered for a successful candidate. 3-month probationary trial period before full employment is offered.
The Candidate
· Time served machinist
· Responsible for performing operational functions on a variety of Manual Lathes.
· Competent in producing a variety of components to tight tolerances and deadlines.
· Proactive and enthusiastic work ethic.
· Flexibility to work overtime on urgent work when required.
· Experience machining a wide variety of materials such as ferrous, non-ferrous, exotic metals & engineering plastics.
· Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
· Experience using vertical & horizontal Borers is preferred but not essential.
· Use a wide range of measuring equipment to check components during manufacture.
· Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to Health and Safety procedures and policies.
· Demonstrate good housekeeping practices.
· Proactively identify and make recommendation for improvements.

· Dayshift only, no shift pattern or nightshift.
· Monday – Thursday 08:00- 16:30
· Friday 08:00- 15:30
· Midweek and weekend overtime often available when required.
· Overtime rate paid at x 1.5.
