Permanent and Long-Term Opportunities
Are you a passionate Design & Technology Teacher considering your next move for September 2026?
Academics is currently working closely with a range of secondary schools across Portsmouth and is building a strong network of DT Teachers ahead of upcoming permanent and long-term vacancies expected for the new academic year.
As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting students of varying abilities and encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills within the classroom.
Schools are particularly interested in teachers with experience or specialisms in areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering, Construction, or Food Technology, although teachers with broader DT experience are also encouraged to apply.
Successful candidates will be confident planning and delivering inclusive lessons, managing practical classroom environments effectively, and contributing positively to departmental and whole-school life.
We are looking to hear from qualified teachers who hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification and have experience teaching Design & Technology within secondary education.
You will have strong curriculum knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and a genuine passion for delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Schools are seeking teachers who are enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to helping students achieve their full potential both academically and creatively.
Whether you are an experienced DT Teacher or an ECT looking to secure your first permanent role, we would be happy to speak with you.
