Job Description
Join Rochdale Children’s Services as a Social Care Worker, where you will provide high-quality professional services to children and their families. This role is essential in assessing needs, designing care services, and providing direct social work assistance, ensuring the welfare and safety of children in accordance with legislative requirements and policies.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Assess the needs of individual children and their families for social care services.
* Design and arrange for the provision of appropriate care services.
* Provide direct social work assistance to children and families.
* Establish and develop effective collaborative working relationships with other agencies to enhance service delivery.
* Manage caseloads as directed, in accordance with agreed policies and criteria.
* Maintain records, case notes, and produce reports in line with administrative policies and procedures.
* Design, review, and monitor family support packages and adjust them as necessary.
* Provide advice, support, and counselling to help families stay together wherever possible.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience in direct work with vulnerable children and young people.
* Ability to assess and use information from various sources.
* Strong negotiation skills and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines and manage work effectively.
* Proficient in IT software packages, including Microsoft Office.
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
