Background
The Centre for Food Policy at City St George’s, University of London, is a leading interdisciplinary research centre focused on redesigning food systems to be healthy, sustainable and fair. Two Research Assistants are needed to contribute to the NIHR-funded studies. These studies named ENTHUSE and ECON are being led by Professor Christina Vogel, who is also Director at the Centre for Food Policy, are evaluating the UK government’s Food (Promotion and Placement) regulations.
Responsibilities
The role will require familiarity with mixed research methods, including qualitative and quantitative data collection and some experience of data analyses. The role will require collaborative working with co-investigators and collaborators on the research project, as well as the development of outputs for a range of audiences, including DHSC or other government departments. The post holder will be required to support the research projects as needed and contribute to the broader work of the Centre for Food Policy.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have completed an MSc in a relevant field, have a passion to improve food systems and address dietary inequalities, and is familiar with UK food policy. They should possess excellent writing and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and collaboratively, and have flexibility and ability to travel for fieldwork. A commitment to continuous professional development is essential. Researchers from a range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
