Location: Mansfield, UK (on-site) Salary: Up to £45,000 (depending on experience) We are seeking an experienced PCB Design Engineer to support the development of advanced electronic products across military, aerospace, and space-related applications. This role involves creating high-quality rigid, flex, and rigid-flex PCB designs while working closely with engineering teams to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities Design and develop PCB layouts (Rigid/Flex/Rigid-Flex) in line with established requirements and best practices. Carry out full PCB layout activities including schematic review, component library creation, placement, routing, and Gerber generation (Altium required). Produce and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, test procedures, and engineering drawings. Prepare fabrication, assembly, and schematic documents using CAD tools (SolidWorks). Troubleshoot design issues and support the PCB development lifecycle. Work collaboratively with electrical engineers and provide support to internal engineering and manufacturing teams. Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety requirements. Ideal Candidate Profile Proven experience as a PCB Layout Engineer/Designer or in a similar role. Strong proficiency with Altium Designer; experience with Polar Instruments and SolidWorks is beneficial (Fusion 360 is a plus). Knowledge of analog, digital, power, RF, high-speed, impedance-controlled, and high-density PCB layouts. Understanding of PCB stack-ups, EMI/EMC principles, thermal management, signal integrity, and multilayer design. Familiarity with IPC standards for PCB design and fabrication. Ability to interpret and implement technical drawings and schematics. Experience with 3D modelling and mechanical integration. Awareness of PCB manufacturing, testing, and assembly processes (DFM/DFX). Benefits Salary up to £45,000 (experience dependent).
