Our client is a LV Switchgear Manufacturer that has been based in the Northeast since the early 90’s and have since established themselves with clients across the UK which has resulted in multi million-pound turnover within the last decade. They have a brand new, state of the art production facility and are now in need of a Production Manager to run the shop floor which consists of 37 fitters and wiremen who are at varying levels of experience. Key Responsibilities: Production Planning and Scheduling: Developing and implementing production plans, schedules, and timelines to meet deadlines and customer requirements. Resource Management: Ensuring the availability of necessary materials, equipment, and personnel for production. Quality Control: Establishing and enforcing quality control standards, monitoring production processes, and implementing quality control programs. Team Leadership: Supervising and motivating production teams, setting performance goals, and providing training and development opportunities. Safety Compliance: Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections, and addressing any safety concerns. Cost Management: Monitoring production costs, identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency, and contributing to budget management. Process Improvement: Implementing new fabrication techniques and technologies to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency. Communication and Collaboration: Liaising with other departments (e.g., sales, purchasing, quality control) to ensure smooth production flow and effective communication within the team. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of production activities, generating reports, and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement. Skills and Qualifications: Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and health and safety regulations. Experience with production planning, scheduling, and resource management.
