An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a much-valued member of the Dorset County Hospital’s Ilchester Ward
We are looking for two people to join the team on Ilchester to cover maternity leave.
Ilchester has a friendly and welcoming team atmosphere. The 33 bedded unit cares for patients requiring close monitoring and observations following admission to hospital. Ilchester encompassing acute care skills, as well as patients requiring rehabilitation needs and complex discharging.
You would be joining us at such an exciting time in an area that will give you the chance to quickly expand your knowledge in a supportive environment.
Main duties of the job
To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence based, patient centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whist reflecting the Trust values.
To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery.

* Registered Nurse
* Evidence of recent CPD
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
* Significant and recent post registration experience in any of the following areas: Understanding of professional nursing issues.
* Recent experience working with acute medical patients.

* Evidence of ability to practice as competent practitioner.
Desirable criteria
* Evidence of ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients and visitors.
* Evidence of an ability to manage time effectively.
* Understanding of clinical governance and its requirements especially risk management.
