Teaching Personnel are working with a primary school based in Macclesfield who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September, supporting a Year 1 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a full-time role during term time, working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists to provide tailored, consistent support to help the child thrive in the classroom.
Responsibilities:
* Provide individualised support to a Year 1 pupil with ASD in a mainstream classroom
* Support the child’s learning, social interaction, communication, and emotional regulation
* Implement strategies from EHCP
* Encourage independence, confidence, and inclusion within the school community
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience working with children with ASD or other SEN
* Be patient, nurturing, and calm when faced with challenging behaviour
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong background in SEN, particularly ASD
* Complete mandatory safeguarding training upon registering with Teaching Personnel
