Position: Rail Principal Civils Engineer
We are seeking to expand our team with a passionate and dedicated Rail Principal Civils Engineer to support our growing workload.
The ideal candidate will have proven design experience across all project stages within Rail Civils and have led Civil and Structural Rail projects.
Key qualities include delivering rail projects to client satisfaction, ensuring accuracy in drawings and calculations, and designing economically, constructably, and in compliance with relevant standards.
Strong business development, client relationship skills, and the ability to lead and manage teams are essential.
Our services encompass design, assessment, inspection, construction support, and management across a variety of rail projects, including feasibility studies, preliminary, and detailed designs.
Our diverse client base includes Network Rail, London Underground, TFL, Nexus, TfGM, SYPTE, and various Tier 1 contractors, with projects spanning local, national, and international rail infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide Expertise: Lead civils design efforts, manage bids, procurement, and contract initiation, demonstrating a successful track record as a CRE/Lead Engineer.
2. Collaborate: Receive project briefs from the Project Manager and disseminate tasks within the team.
3. Ensure Quality: Develop and review concept and detailed designs, calculations, reports, and specifications. Oversee CAD drawings and documentation, liaising with designers and CAD Technicians.
4. Anticipate: Contribute to project specifications for construction, attend site visits as necessary, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including CDM.
Qualifications
* BSc, BEng, or Meng Degree in Civil Engineering
* Chartered Engineer (ICE) or working towards it, and member of a professional institution
* Experience in Rail Civils and Structures
Experience with Network Rail, London Underground, Railway Group Standards, British Standards, and Eurocodes is preferred.
