Key Responsibilities
Planning & Coordination
* Lead the production planning process to meet customer demands, optimise resource utilisation, and ensure on-time delivery.
* Support the planning team, providing guidance and mentorship to deliver high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
* Collaborate closely with production, procurement and logistics teams to align schedules and resolve conflicts.
Demand Forecasting & Scheduling
* Analyse sales forecasts, customer orders, and historical data to develop accurate production plans.
* Use planning tools and systems to adjust schedules in response to changes in demand or capacity.
Inventory & Resource Management
* Maintain optimal inventory levels, balancing stock availability with minimising excess.
* Monitor and manage capacity to prevent bottlenecks and delays.
System & Data Management
* Utilise ERP systems to generate reports, track KPIs, and support decision-making.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and waste reduction.
Experience required:
* Proven experience in production planning, ideally within manufacturing or engineering industries.
* Experience leading or supervising planning teams (highly desirable).
* Strong proficiency with ERP systems, along with excellent computer literacy.
* Exceptional organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
* Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
* Resilient, proactive, and capable of working under pressure with a sense of urgency.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes, lead times, and bill of materials is advantageous.
* A forward thinker with a passion for continuous improvement.
