Centrado Trading Limited is a progressive UK company that supplies materials to the picture framing industry. We are recruiting for outstanding individuals who are reliable and hard-working, to be part of our great Office Team. We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to manage the day-to-day procurement operations where you will lead a small team and be responsible for purchase orders, supplier communication, and lower-level negotiations, while supporting the Managing Director on key supplier accounts. What will you be doing for us?
* Raising and managing all purchase orders for stock and materials
* Monitoring inventory levels and reordering to meet demand
* Liaising with UK and overseas suppliers on lead times, availability, pricing, and delivery schedules
* Managing supplier relationships, including performance reviews and contract negotiations
* Handling supplier negotiations on pricing, MOQs, and delivery terms
* Supporting the Managing Director with data and insights for strategic supplier discussions
* Tracking and managing inbound shipments and working with logistics providers and customs brokers
* Maintaining accurate procurement records and updating ERP/stock management systems
* Resolving supply issues, delays, and order/invoicing discrepancies
* Ensuring compliance with company procedures and import regulations
* Collaborating with finance to manage budgets, cost control, and payment terms
* Identifying cost reduction and operational improvement opportunities
* Defining and upholding quality standards in partnership with Commercial and Operations teams
* Overseeing the product lifecycle, including SKU setup and discontinuations
* Leading and mentoring the Purchasing team to deliver efficient procurement processes
* Managing departmental budgets in collaboration with the Managing Director
* Driving continuous improvement across people, systems, and workflows
* Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management for the procurement team
We would love to hear from you if you have:
* Minimum 3 years experience in a purchasing or procurement position, ideally within import and distribution
* Solid understanding of supply chain processes, especially international supplier ordering
* Open communicator who builds positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams
* Good knowledge of spreadsheets and ERP systems (e.g. Sage, NetSuite, SAP)
* Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and time-management skills
* Experience with customs/import documentation and Incoterms
* Familiarity with suppliers in the EU or Far East (desirable)
* Studying towards, or qualified in CIPS (advantageous but not essential)
