Organisation Gwella Salary £79,712.00 per annum Location Flintshire, North Wales Contract type Permanent (Full time) Closing date 22 June 2025 Job Description The Managing Director is responsible for the leadership, strategic management and sustainability of Gwella, a local authority trading company managing leisure centres, libraries and heritage services on behalf of Flintshire County Council.

Gwella is in the early stages of its development and the Managing Director will lead on the implementation of the key pillars which will provide the organisation with stability and the platform to improve performance, to optimise resources, to meet customer expectations, and to maintain a financially sustainable operating model for the long-term.

The post requires a strategic thinker with comprehensive knowledge and experience of managing the balance between community services and commercial activity, of understanding the dynamics between the economic and the non-economic elements of the business.

The ability to collaborate effectively with partners will be a significant driver in moving the organisation to a broader health and well-being focus to meet the needs of local communities and the wider cross-cutting themes of public sector policy.
