Job Description:

This role supports the Finance Department as part of the transactional team, reporting to the Sales and Purchase Ledger Manager. The responsibilities include processing purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy, authorisation, and proper recording in the Sage 50 system, handling enquiries, managing supplier accounts, and assisting with period-end activities. The role requires flexibility and may involve covering other roles with full training provided.

* Process 150-200 purchase invoices weekly, verifying prices and resolving discrepancies.
* Ensure invoices are authorised and matched to Purchase Orders.
* Record invoices and post payments accurately in Sage 50.
* Handle invoice and payment enquiries professionally and promptly.
* Manage the shared AP inbox and update supplier details.
* Reconcile supplier accounts and correct errors.
* Assist with period-end closing activities.
* Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
Essential skills / experience:
* Proficient in Excel, Word, Microsoft Office, Sage50, and D365.
* Meticulous with strong planning and organisational skills.
* Good telephone manner and communication skills.
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Proactive problem solver with a positive, flexible attitude.
* Team player.
Professional requirements:
* Right to work in the UK.
Level of education:
* At least 2 GCSEs (grade 5 or above) including English and Maths.
* AAT Level 2 preferred; further study opportunities available.
* Minimum 1 year relevant experience.
