 
        
        Associate UX Researcher - Loyalty & Support
Join Tesco, the UK’s largest supermarket, as an Associate UX Researcher in our Loyalty & Support team. You will help millions of customers shop better by researching their needs and shaping solutions that improve every stage of the shopping journey.
About the role
As an associate researcher you will:
 * Design and conduct user‑centred research, including qualitative and quantitative studies, to deliver data‑driven recommendations.
 * Summarise findings, set research timelines, create reports and present insights to stakeholders.
 * Collaborate with Online UX, product owners, designers, writers, service designers, data & analytics experts and developers to understand business priorities.
 * Apply a wide range of UX research methods and turn findings into actionable recommendations.
 * Advance standard UX research methodologies through knowledge sharing.
 * Support the research team’s workflow and project management, prioritise activities and maintain communication.
 * Promote research practices across the team and external partners.
 * Identify and resolve workflow issues, such as coordinating research activities or booking labs.
 * Elevate the UX Research team’s visibility and showcase success stories.
 * Organise team meetings, maintain tools, create playbooks, onboard new members and manage vendor relationships.
 * Uphold Tesco’s Business Code of Conduct in all actions.
Required experience
 * Solid understanding of UX research methodology and practices.
 * Hands‑on experience with qualitative methods (usability testing, ethnography, contextual enquiry, surveys, journey mapping, competitor analysis, heuristics) and quantitative methods.
 * Knowledge of user‑centred design principles and application to interface and service design.
 * Familiarity with Agile and Lean practices.
 * Appreciation of trade‑offs between user needs, business objectives and technical constraints.
 * Experience crafting research plans that outline key deliverables.
 * Proficiency with research software (UserTesting.com, Optimal Workshop, Morae, Tobii, InVision, etc.).
 * Usability / UX lab‑based testing experience (desirable).
 * Adept at building strong relationships with peers and senior leadership.
 * Strong written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
 * Creative problem‑solving ability.
