Job summary We are seeking to appoint a Consultant Cellular Pathologist to join our experienced and highly motivated team at the Site : Clinical Sciences Building, Oxford Road Campus (although there may be a requirement to work across our other sites). Specialities: This 10 PA postholder will join the cellular pathology reporting team with a predominant contribution to Diagnostic cytopathology. There is flexibility for a minor histopathology component, with Dermatopathology (Head and Neck skin) preferred. Contribution to each sub speciality will be discussed with the successful appointee based on expertise and service requirements. Main duties of the job The appointee will, together with other consultant colleagues, be responsible for providing subspecialised cytopathology services for its clinical users (Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and local General Practices). This may include review of cytopathology of patients who are referred in to any of the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust sites for further investigation or treatment from other hospitals. The appointee will participate in cancer multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) in line with their areas of subspecialisation.
