Business Development Manager - CRB Cunninghams UK
CRB Cunninghams is the only UK provider with its own identity management, cashless catering, and online payment solutions, supported by a national service and support team. Our education solutions are used in over 3,000 schools across the UK to help them run efficient and effective meal and nutritional programs, as well as providing a cashless payment system to reduce cash usage and related issues.
Our mission is to assist UK schools in becoming cashless, achieving benefits such as reduced debt, food waste reduction, and anonymity for free school meals.
Position:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for selling our Software, Hardware, and Services, reporting to the Commercial Director. The role involves meeting or exceeding sales targets within an assigned region, developing strong relationships with prospective customers, and adopting a consultative sales approach to generate new business from both provided and sourced leads. The manager will collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Support, Sales, R&D) to enhance sales and onboarding processes.
Job Responsibilities:
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company's product portfolio and stay aware of competitor offerings.
* Achieve or surpass sales targets focusing on new business within designated regions.
* Stay informed about industry trends and update the team and management accordingly.
* Follow company sales guidelines and SOPs, maintain CRM database, and develop professional sales documentation.
* Assist in lead generation activities and liaise with marketing and wider team.
* Qualify, develop, and manage leads through to sales conversion.
* Respond to sales inquiries promptly and follow up appropriately.
* Develop and maintain a sales pipeline to meet sales targets.
* Meet or exceed monthly sales KPIs.
* Identify customer needs via a consultative approach and present solutions accurately.
* Demonstrate software solutions in person or via video calls.
* Handle objections and prepare quotations/proposals.
* Negotiate and close sales deals.
* Report regularly to the Commercial Director.
* Maximize profit on potential sales.
* Attend training to develop skills and knowledge.
* Build strategic relationships within the industry and with key stakeholders.
* Participate in industry trade shows and team meetings.
* Perform other duties related to sales and promotion as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
* Experience selling software solutions within the Public Sector & Education sectors.
* A degree or relevant qualification is desirable.
* Proven track record in selling business application software.
* Relevant sales training and experience.
* Good computer literacy and technical knowledge.
* Personal qualities include high motivation, energy, enthusiasm, honesty, integrity, customer service orientation, goal focus, professionalism, persistence, negotiation skills, and excellent communication skills.
* Ability to build and maintain business relationships and understand technology applications in business.
