An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Admiral Nurse or other dementia specialist nurse within the Bradford District Care Trust team of Admiral Nurses, part of the award-winning Proactive Care Team (PACT).
An Admiral Nurse is a senior nursing position specializing in dementia care, providing relationship-centred support to individuals with dementia and their families. Responsibilities include complex assessments, clinical interventions, education for healthcare professionals, and advocacy for quality dementia care within a designated area, all aligned with the Admiral Nurse competency framework.

Main duties of the job
The primary focus of the Admiral Nurse role is to deliver person-centred and relationship-centred dementia care within central Bradford to improve the experience of people living with dementia, their carers, and families.
The post holder will:
1. Deliver evidence-based, culturally appropriate dementia care and support improvements in the experience of people living with dementia, their carers, and families, applying the Admiral Nurse Competency Framework at a specialist level.
2. Work with families to provide support, expert guidance, and practical solutions.
3. Collaborate with other services and organizations to coordinate care for people with dementia and support for their families, including planning for future care, managing co-morbidities, and accessing specialist palliative care.
4. Provide support and education to colleagues and other health and social care professionals involved in dementia care.

Person Specification
Experience
* Post-registration clinical experience working with people with dementia and their carers/supporters in various settings.
* Experience in palliative care and long-term conditions.
Training
* Formal knowledge of dementia and older people acquired through postgraduate clinical training or education.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (RNMH/RGN/RNLD).
* Additional nursing qualification preferred.
Knowledge
* Understanding of South Asian cultures, with the ability to work sensitively with individuals, families, and community organizations in areas with high South Asian populations.
* Fluency in Urdu, Punjabi, or Gujarati.

This role requires a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 per annum, pro-rata.
