You will be joining a respected, long‑established charity operating across the West Midlands, dedicated to supporting vulnerable adults, children and survivors of abuse. The organisation delivers specialist, trauma‑informed services that empower individuals to recover from exploitation, rebuild their lives and regain independence. Their Modern Slavery Support Service provides vital accommodation and community‑based support to victims of modern slavery and human trafficking, working closely with partner agencies to ensure safety, stability and long‑term recovery.
Your new role
As a Modern Slavery Outreach Advocate, you will provide frontline support to potential victims of modern slavery and international human trafficking, including adults and their children. You will:
Deliver regular emotional, practical and safeguarding support
Complete risk assessments, needs assessments and journey plans within set timescales
Support clients to access their rights and entitlements under ECAT
Advocate for individuals navigating the National Referral Mechanism
Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners, including health, mental health, substance misuse and domestic abuse services
Manage a caseload in a fast‑paced environment, maintaining accurate case management records
Promote client independence, safety and resilience while maintaining professional boundariesThis is a challenging but deeply rewarding role requiring emotional strength, resilience and a commitment to empowering survivors of exploitation.
What you'll need to succeed
You will bring:
Experience supporting vulnerable adults and/or children, with strong safeguarding awareness
Knowledge of modern slavery indicators, the NRM process and relevant legislation
Understanding of trauma‑informed practice and person‑centred support
Ability to build trust, communicate effectively and advocate for clients facing cultural, linguistic or practical barriers
Experience managing complex casework and working with partner agencies
Strong organisational skills, resilience under pressure and the ability to prioritise competing demands
Competence using Microsoft Office and digital platforms
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Eligibility to work in the UKExperience in homelessness, destitution support, motivational interviewing or working within a contracted service environment is desirable.
What you'll get in return
Salary: £25,287.91 - £27,993.18 (depending on experience)
37.5‑hour working week, Monday to Friday
