Offer description

* We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to cover the UK targeting housebuilders & developers along with social housing organisations and other specifiers.
* Ideally the candidate will be used to the route to market via specification and distribution.
* The role requires a technically qualified individual with a proven track record from the HVAC product/market sector.
* A key focus will be to ensure agreed company sales targets are achieved.
* Ensuring best use of the Prospect365 CRM to record and track sales information and store important documentation.


Reports: Reporting to the Head of UK Sales Specification

• Direct Reports – Internal BDM & BDE

• Indirect Reports – None


Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Ensure ROI on proposals meets company objectives

• Prepare and propose sales budgets from income forecast activity and gaining sign off

• To ensure the Prospect365 CRM is updated with comprehensive and accurate information and documentation.

• To use effective verbal and written communication skills to co-operate proficiently with customers and colleagues.

• To be flexible in approach when required to cover during colleague’s absenteeism.


Key Relationships

• Internal; BDM & BDE, Marketing department, internal sales support and customer services. Field based sales support personnel and sales management.

• External; Social Housing Organisations along with the following influencers in that market Housebuilders/Developers, Buyers, Specifiers, contractors M&E Consultants, Asset Managers


Key Objectives & Targets

• To target and develop Housebuilders/Developers, Social Housing Organisations and other relevant specifiers and buyers.

• To secure listing of Airflow products at the specification stage of projects profitably.

• Ensure Prospect365 (Airflow CRM tool) has all customer’s correct contacts and divisional offices listed.

• Accurately prepare and present tenders and proposals to specifiers.

• Review, analyse and action leads sent via Prospect365 or self-generated.

• Identify new projects from existing contractual partners and ensure that all the organisations involved are aware of the relevant Airflow specification schedules.

• Work closely with Airflow RSM team to ensure that preferred wholesalers are given the opportunity to supply specification business.

• Present monthly the current status on any live projects, via the income forecast tool.

• Attend Exhibitions as and when required including any weekend exhibitions as requested.

• Maintain Prospect365 CRM and required weekly/monthly reports such as Sales, Income forecast, Vehicle Mileage and Expenses.

• Carry out any other related tasks conducive with the role.

• Effectively communicate and drive interdepartmental cooperation.

• The working week should consist of 4 field days and one home admin day.

• The aim is for a minimum of 4 booked appointments per day with the rest of the day filled with planned cold calls.

• The company laptop to be taken out into the field daily.

• Prospect365 (Airflow CRM) to be updated daily preferably after each client’s visit.

• All CRM recalls are to be dealt with in a timely manner.

• Territory planning to be effective. This will involve overnight hotel stays to make optimum and effective use of your time. All calls scheduled via CRM system and Outlook Calendar.

• You must be prepared to undertake presentations and CPD seminars to multiple clients as requested and actively self-generate these seminars.

• Regular communication is essential with your line manager.

• There will be a two week induction period at head office during which you will be trained on products and procedures and processes.

• There will be continual training including the opportunities to improve your IT skills in our dedicated IT training room.

• You will be required to host regular field days accompanied by your line manager.

• A report of 3 highlights from your working week to be supplied on time to your line manager at a deadline set by him.

• The position will be subject to a 3 month probation period.


Key Competencies & Requirements

* Experience in a similar role is ideal
* Suitable technical qualifications are required
* Demonstrable mechanical and electrical engineering experience required
* Knowledge of the new build residential and social Housing sector is preferable
* Previous CRM experience is preferable
* Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is required
* Fluent English both spoken and written is essential
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information verbally and in writing is essential
