Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day academic and emotional support of students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide both one-to-one and small group support, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Supporting students with a range of additional needs, including those with EHCPs
2. Assisting teaching staff with classroom preparation and lesson delivery
3. Encouraging student engagement and motivation within the classroom
4. Monitoring progress and providing regular feedback to teachers and SENCOs
5. Promoting positive behaviour and fostering emotional wellbeing
The Ideal Candidate:
6. Previous experience working as an LSA or in a similar support role within a secondary school setting
7. A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
9. A genuine passion for education and pupil development
10. A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
