Overview
A client within the Public Sector based in Tyne and Wear is recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer (Technical) to join their team. This is a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a local authority in a health and safety environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to support the Health and Safety Team in maintaining a safe working environment across the Borough by carrying out inspections and recording findings using digital systems.
* Carrying out site inspections across council premises and facilities.
* Recording inspection outcomes using the SafetyCulture app.
* Assisting the Health and Safety Team with compliance monitoring and reporting.
* Supporting colleagues in promoting safe working practices and ensuring standards are met.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
* A recognised health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
* Experience of undertaking workplace/site inspections within a public sector or similar environment.
Desirable Skills
* Strong IT literacy, including use of mobile inspection apps or databases.
* Good communication and reporting skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Salary and How to Apply
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £20 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £15–£16 per hour PAYE).
