LEARNING
AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
The
Role:
Our Learning and Development Manager plays a key role in
designing and delivering a dynamic internal L&D strategy, focused on
engaging and onboarding new teams effectively, encouraging career growth, and
ensuring an amazing people journey and experiences. You will be a super
engaged, positive, enthusiastic person who is passionate about delivering fun,
entertaining, engaging, dynamic, training to all areas of the business.
As the champion of crafting and driving great people experiences
at Caravan, you will lead the L&D function within the people team, creating
and delivering L&D initiatives that supports Caravan’s success and growth. Also using tech and creative strategies to
effectively deliver training.
Working closely with the People Director, you will spearhead the
creation, implementation, and effective delivery of our Learning &
Development initiatives. Your goal is to ensure we have motivated teams in the
right roles, in the right places, with the right knowledge and driving
outstanding performance across all Caravan.

As
Caravan’s LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, you will be responsible for:
* Training Strategy and Implementation: Get
creative with L&D, following the 70:20:10 model to craft and deliver
training across all our sites.
* Strategic Collaboration: Team
up with the People Director and Operations Team to build a solid,
budget-friendly L&D strategy that fits Caravan.
* Customer Journey: Ensure
our service standards shine at every touchpoint of the customer journey,
from hosts and runners to bars and kitchens. This includes rolling out
training for new menu launches and any special events.
* Performance and Compliance: Own
our Learning Management System (LMS), aiming for a solid 90% completion
rate for all training and compliance tasks across the board. Keep everyone
up-to-date with timely compliance training and explore new LMS solutions
to keep our tech fresh and our teams engaged to learn.
* L&D Program Development and
Evaluation: Create
and maintain an induction and development program that sings in harmony
with Caravan's core values. Measure training effectiveness against our
business goals and tweak strategies when needed.
* Reporting and Budgeting: Weekly
L&D reports to track progress and support our teams. Keep a tight rein
on the L&D budget so that it proves ROI.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Spot
and champion opportunities for learning across different teams. Team up
with Heads of Departments to create training plans that helps Caravan to
keep on growing.
* New Site Opening Support: Write
training plans for new site openings, lending a hand from hiring to
post-opening training sessions.
* Special Projects and Leadership: Take
charge of special training projects as assigned by the People Director,
leading the charge with fresh L&D ideas.
Talent Management
* Strategic Planning: Help
the People Director and Operations Team jazz up the people calendar and
contribute to our rock-solid People Talent Plan.
* Talent Pipeline and Development: Keep
the talent flowing by focusing on internal promotions (80/20). Help roll
out Personal Development Plans (PDPs) and Performance Improvement Plans
(PIPs).
* Learning Gap Analysis and Solutions: Spot
talent gaps and team up with the People Director to dream up smart
solutions.
* Business Partnership: Work
hand in hand with department heads to understand what our business needs,
predict talent trends, and suggest the right fixes.
