The Role

We are looking to recruit a Project Design Engineer to join our Water design team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to acquire a broad range of skills and experience in design and project management.

The role will provide essential engineering, communications, and project delivery skills that are transferrable across any engineering project. Responsibilities will include leading and delivering mechanical design across various water sector projects, working within a design team, and collaborating with the wider process MEICA team.

* Lead and deliver mechanical design across a range of water sector projects
* Work within a design team including Mechanical, Process, Civil, E&I, CP, and drafting team members
* Collaborate and plan design work and deliverables with the wider process MEICA team
* Design from conceptual phase through to project completion
* Develop Preliminary and Detailed Design reports, calculations, and drawings
* Mentor mechanical engineers, promoting knowledge-sharing and team development in design
* Develop and technically assure design, including the use of relevant software packages
* Produce design drawings, mechanical plant selection, technical specifications, and P&ID’s
* Prepare and check design of mechanical installations
* Produce hydraulic calculations for gravity and pumped systems
* Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to meet agreed targets
* Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, specifications, and Health and Safety regulations


Requirements

The ideal candidate will have an Engineering degree (Honours bachelor’s degree or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Process Engineering, or a similar discipline, with 5+ years of post-graduate experience.

* 5+ years of post-graduate experience
* Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Familiar with AutoCAD 'Plant 3D' modeling
* Good academic record
* Full clean driving license and own transport required
* Fluent written and spoken English is essential
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
