Job Summary
Band 7 Occupational Therapist – Elderly care wards and the Department of Medicine for Older People (DMOP) at Northwick Park Hospital, London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.
Full‑time, flexible working (includes rostered weekend service). Salary: £55,524 to £62,652 a year (inclusive HCAS). Closing date: 12 June 2026.
Responsibilities
* Lead a multidisciplinary team of Band 5 & 6 therapists, therapy technicians and students on one DMOP ward.
* Provide an autonomous, specialist Occupational Therapy service to complex physical and cognitive case loads.
* Assess and treat patients in partnership with the multidisciplinary team, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
* Contribute to the development and appraisal of the DMOP inpatient service, prioritising and organising referrals.
* Act as part of the rostered 7‑day DMOP service.
* Develop and appraise team members, including Band 5 & 6 OTs, physiotherapists, therapy technicians and students.
* Deliver formal and informal on‑going training and education to staff, allied health professionals and students.
* Engage in continued professional development (CPD) and service development.
* Participate in clinical audit and research within the team.
Essential Qualifications
* HCPC registration
* NHS experience
* Degree in Occupational Therapy
Desirable Qualifications
* Relevant post‑qualification courses
* Leadership skills
Essential Experience
* Mixed Band 6 rotations with emphasis on acute elderly care wards.
* Extensive experience as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist.
Desirable Experience
* Experience in dementia care, falls and frailty services.
Essential Skills
* High standard communication at MDT level.
* Service improvement skills, including audit.
* Advanced communication skills.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in complex discharge planning.
Other Information
* Commitment to rostered weekend service.
* Discharge and Barring Service check required (REOA 1975).
* UK professional registration required.
