About the Role
Are you someone who thrives in a busy, customer-focused environment? Do you enjoy delivering exceptional service, whether in retail, hospitality, or another fast-paced setting? If so, the Library Experience Assistant position at Manchester Metropolitan University could be the perfect role for you!
In this role, you will be a key part of our Library Experience Team, delivering high-quality customer service both in-person and online. You'll play an active part in ensuring that our library is a welcoming, accessible, and supportive space for all users.
We are recruiting to three positions as part of this campaign:
* Two roles are offered on a fixed-term contract (FTC) basis for 12 months
* One role is offered as a permanent position
As part of your application, you will be asked to indicate whether you wish to be considered for the fixed-term roles only, the permanent role only, or if you are happy to be considered for both. Please ensure you select the option that best reflects your preferences.
Key responsibilities include:
* Responding promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and referring or escalating as needed.
* Collecting and acting upon customer feedback to continuously improve our service.
* Supporting the delivery of circulation services, including shelving and managing library resources.
* Actively roving the library's study areas, ensuring customers receive the help they need.
* Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth communication and service delivery, especially during evenings and weekends.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
* Has a passion for delivering excellent customer service and enjoys interacting with people.
* Works well as part of a team, with the flexibility to assist others and contribute to joint objectives.
* Is confident in resolving complex customer queries and able to take ownership of tasks.
* Is proactive, approachable, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
While previous library experience isn't essential, we are seeking individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to a positive, service-oriented team culture.
