Summary of Job Function
A key member of the Production team, the job holder is responsible for assisting the Production Manager in achievement of all operation targets. Responsible for maintaining all plant and equipment in a safe condition. Preventative maintenance of plant and building. Responsible for providing new tooling through manufacture or procurement. Assist the Production Manager in securing accurate quotations for materials, plant and equipment. Working on projects to make new production machinery.
Key Responsibilities
· Produce custom tooling to order and within agreed timescale
· Ensure all equipment and machinery is in safe working condition
· Development of TPM system
· Maintenance of building
· Involvement in IMS focused improvement culture
· Effective performance management and development of direct reports
· Training development of Engineering apprentice
Challenges
· Continual maintenance of plant and equipment
· Working as part of the Engineering and Production team to achieve corporate objectives
· Reacting to breakdowns/failures
· Maintaining cost effective relationships with suppliers
· Maintain customer satisfaction through prompt and effective response to customer requests

Experience
· Qualified in engineering disciplines. Able to operate all engineering machinery safely (Lathes, Milling, Welding, Fabrication, Hydraulics and Pneumatics).

Hours of Work
8am to 4pm. Monday to Friday.
Sick Pay
Up to one week in your first three years. This increases to 3 weeks after 3 years, and 3 weeks full pay and 3 weeks half pay after 5 years.
Annual Leave
25 days per year plus UK bank holidays, increasing to 27 days per year after 7 year's service.
