About the Role
Senior Flood Risk Engineer within the Infrastructure Planning Team in the Environment and Transport Department. Manage the extensive Flood risk management capital programme, assist in the delivery of statutory functions, and provide line management and supervisory support to team members.
Work alongside the Flood Risk Management team, carrying site visits and meetings with residents, contractors, developers and land owners to investigate solutions to known flooding issues. Write business cases, funding bids and take a leading role in delivering a multi‑million pound project portfolio. Provide technical advice to Members, partners and stakeholders and produce reports where appropriate. Work in a fast‑paced environment, managing your own workload and meeting deadlines while building relationships and negotiating with stakeholders.
About You
To apply for this post you must have :
* A degree in an appropriate subject (e.g. Civil Engineering, Water and Environmental Engineering, etc.) or equivalent demonstrable work experience of project‑managing flood‑risk related projects.
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of project management processes commensurate with the Environment Agency requirements.
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the development of flood‑risk management policies and strategies.
* Proven experience of supervising and managing members of a team with varied workloads both in technical aspects and performance management.
* Demonstrable experience of engaging with customers/clients/stakeholders, including attending and producing materials for meetings, exhibitions, etc., and liaising with elected members.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, including delivering concise written advice and negotiating successful outcomes.
* Demonstrable experience of working to tight timescales and meeting agreed targets.
