Brighton & Hove is recruiting 4 Social Work Assistants.

We're excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for fourfull time (37hrs per week) Social Work Assistants (SWA) based in the heart of vibrant Brighton and Hove.

* 2 fixed-term Social Work Assistant (37 hours) posts as part of a new dedicated reviewing team in Adult Social Care based at Bartholomew House, Brighton. Completing reviews in line with Care Act guidance to ensure that support plans are meeting needs and deliver best value for money. Fixed term until March 2027
* 2 permanent Social Work Assistants (37 hours) posts as part of the Discharge, Assessment and Response Team (DART) (Hospital Social Work Team) based at Hove Town Hall, undertaking community assessments and reviews for clients who have recently experienced a hospital admission.

About the role

Dedicated Reviewing Team (Bartholomew House, Brighton)

Our Adult Social Care Teams support adults and carers with a diverse range of needs such as physical disabilities, learning disabilities, long-term conditions, acquired brain injury, frailty, dementia and multiple compound needs.

You will work under the supervision of a registered Social Worker, and closely with commissioning colleagues to complete reviews

These two roles are available as a fixed term contract to external candidates and may be a secondment to internal applicants in line with our secondment policy. In accordance with the policy and ensure you have the written approval of your line manager before applying. Evidence of this must be included with your application.

Discharge, Assessment and Response Team (DART) (Hospital Social Work Team) based at Hove Town Hall

Working in our supportive and friendly Discharge, Assessment and Response Social Work team, Social Work Assistants provide a vital service to adults with care and support needs and their carers through assessment, support planning and review in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental procedures. Working as part of a team, Social Work Assistant duties are informed by social work knowledge, legislation, statutory guidance and policy and procedures relating to the social care of adults and their carers. They undertake assessments and co-ordinate services to improve outcomes for adults in in need of care and support in accordance with our strategic priorities.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

These would be part of your individual working arrangements alongside any personal preference agreed with your manager in advance of joining.
