The Opportunity
The Old Bell is a much‑loved Kilburn institution and we are looking for a General Manager who can take the helm of this busy, characterful pub and really make it their own. Sitting proudly on Kilburn High Road, the Old Bell is right at the heart of a vibrant and diverse community, with a loyal local following and a constant flow of new faces drawn in by sport, events and the buzz of the area.
Kilburn is full of personality and energy, known for its strong Irish heritage, its Afro‑Caribbean culture and a social scene packed with wet‑led pubs and independent eateries. Competition is healthy along the high road, which makes standing out more important than ever. The Old Bell does exactly that, thanks to an extended draught range, a genuinely friendly team and a standout beer garden that can host up to 200 guests on a sunny day. Inside and out, multiple screens and three Sky boxes ensure we’re a go‑to venue for sport, while direct links to Wembley mean match days, concerts and national events bring fantastic levels of footfall through our doors.
The pub has recently benefited from a full facelift, with refreshed internal and external décor, new booth seating with integrated screens to drive pre‑booked sales, refurbished toilets and a new fire door that has increased overall capacity. It’s a business with huge potential and strong foundations, ready for the right General Manager to push it further.
About You
This role is all about people and presence. You’ll be a General Manager who supports and develops their teams at every opportunity, rewarding and recognising them for going above and beyond for their peers and business alike. You’ll also thrive in a lively, community‑driven pub environment, someone who genuinely enjoys getting to know their regulars while still delivering a warm, welcoming experience to first‑time guests.
You’ll be confident managing a wide range of guests and situations, staying calm and in control even when behaviour can occasionally be unpredictable. On big Wembley days you’ll be comfortable leading from the front, running high‑volume events and making the most of the increased trade, while also finding creative reasons for guests to visit outside of headline sporting fixtures. Local fêtes, community days and calendar moments should feel like opportunities you’re excited to maximise!
