Job Summary
Attendance Manager at Ashton Community Science College. Full‑time, term‑time 37 hours per week, plus two additional days. Starts September 2026.
Location
Aldwych Drive, Ashton, Preston, Lancashire, PR2 1SL.
Salary & Position
Grade 7 (point 19‑25). Pay range £32,061 – £36,363 (term‑time) or £27,392 – £31,068 pro‑rata. Subject to the 26/27 National Junior College pay award.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the monitoring and analysis of attendance data to identify trends and underlying causes.
* Develop and implement whole‑school attendance strategies focused on early intervention and student engagement.
* Build strong, empathetic relationships with parents/carers, maintaining high expectations.
* Collaborate with pastoral staff, senior leaders and external partners to support pupils at risk of persistent or severe absence.
* Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
* Support the school’s inclusive ethos by ensuring all pupils feel supported and can participate in school life.
Essential Qualifications
* Experience in education or a related role with a focus on attendance, pupil support or pastoral care.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into action.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to safeguarding and the duty to provide a safe environment for children.
