We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team atHMP Garth, a high security Category B male prison located in Leyland. HMP Garth has capacity of around 850, and houses men serving long term and indeterminate sentences.
This role sits within our Primary Care team, where you will support with clinics, work with pharmacy and respond to emergency situations - no 2 days are ever the same!
Hours
This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis. The rota is:
Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Shifts are 07:30 - 19:45
We have an 8-week rota, and 2 of those weeks are night shifts, working the same as above, but 19:45 - 07:30.
Salary: You will receive an annual salary of between £25,557 - £29,723 per annum depending on experience.

What you'll be doing As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings
Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients care
Support the primary care nursing team with all aspects of care
Support clinics, including bloods, ECGs, weight etc
Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required
You will primarily be working within the primary care team, although may be required to carry out duties in the substance misuse or mental health teams
