Location: Oakham, Rutland, East Midlands (LE15) with Hybrid working options. Job type: Full-Time, 18 Month Fixed Term Contract. Working hours: 37 hours per week, flexible and agile working. Salary: £32,061 - £47,181 per annum (Career Grade depending on qualifications and experience).
Due to additional funding, this role supports a portfolio of high-impact projects, with responsibility for financial management and accounting using Microsoft 365 and computerised accounting systems.
Responsibilities
* Financial Management: conduct basic financial analysis (cost analysis and variance analysis)
* Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
* Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes
* Assist in maintaining internal control procedures to ensure financial integrity
* Handle complex account reconciliations
* Corporate Accounting: conduct basic financial analysis (cost analysis and variance analysis)
* Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts

* Handle complex account reconciliations
* Take a more active role in preparing financial statements
* Assist the Principal Accountant to maintain the organisation\'s Asset Register, asset valuations and aspects of capital accounting
* Support the Principal Accountant in providing an effective Treasury Management function for the organisation
Candidate Requirements
* AAT Qualified or CCAB Qualified or Qualified by Experience
* Experience of financial management and accounting (relevant to level)
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and statutory requirements
* Highly competent in the use of Microsoft 365
* Able to manage and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
* Competent in the use of computerised accounting systems
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
* Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex financial information and communicate results through reports
* Effective leadership and team management skills
* Flexible in working patterns to fulfil commitments of the role and team
* Willingness and ability to visit other sites as and when required
