Your role and responsibilities

* If you enjoy working with children and have the resilience to deal with challenging behaviours while still being able to offer a caring and supportive therapeutic approach, we would love to hear from you.
* Collaborate with an established team and become an integral part of our children's lives across a small cluster of homes with varying shift patterns to support holiday or training cover.
* Our cluster roles offer diverse work and the opportunity to develop by working across multiple teams.
* Responsibilities include daily home life tasks such as driving children to and from school, appointments, and visits. A full UK manual driving license is essential.
* Teach valuable life skills, including meal preparation and household chores, while creating engaging activities, outings, and holidays.

Your role as a Cluster Residential Child Care Worker

* Full-time employment as a dedicated team member, averaging 56.4 hours per week, including sleep hours.
* Work collaboratively with your team on shift across multiple locations within a short journey of each other, providing support tailored to the young person’s needs, either one-to-one or two-to-one.
* Training begins on day one with a comprehensive induction and shadow shifts to learn about the Pebbles Way and the therapeutic care model, supported by a manager and the in-house Learning and Development team.

What We Offer You

* A starting salary of £34,719.00 to £36,248.00 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.
* Cluster full-time rota: one day on (24 hours, including sleepover) and two days off (48 hours). This may change with advance notice; salary reflects the stated rota pattern.
* Average weekly hours, including sleepovers, are 56.4. Rota depends on home requirements within the cluster.
* 5.6 weeks annual leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time contracts).
* Learning and Development support to receive 100% funding for Level 3 SVQ/NVQ in Residential Child Care.
* Career review upon completing induction, training, and minimum qualifications.
* Auto-enrolment into salary sacrifice pension scheme (Scottish Widows).

* Meals provided during shifts, menu depending on home’s choices.

Essential qualities

* Flexible approach to work patterns.
* Dedication to safeguarding children and young people.
* Desire for qualifications and ongoing personal development.
* Confident and resilient nature.
* Full UK driver’s license required (manual vehicles at all homes).
* Kinder and supportive nature, patience, and ability to build non-judgmental relationships.
* Engaged listener with clear verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft packages.

Desirable qualities

* Up to 12 months of experience with children or young adults; more than 12 months may qualify for higher salary levels.
* Working toward or desire to obtain SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma (funding may be available).
* Familiarity with regulatory codes of practice.
* PVG/DBS certificate or equivalent.
