We’re looking for someone to strengthen our advisory capacity to meet the operational HR needs of our services; someone who can provide a balance between reactive operational HR support and working proactively to coach others and tackle the root causes of people-related matters.
Finding the right person is as important as finding the right skill set. We’re therefore welcoming applications from candidates with proven experience in an advisory role or an HR Officer with a good foundation in HR, looking for their next step.
This is a permanent, full-time role enjoying a balance of hybrid working between your own home and our new modern head office at Hesslewood Park near the Humber Bridge, where you will spot the squirrels and peacocks roaming daily. Some travel is required from time to time to our services.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting and guiding managers on employee relations issues by giving advice, supporting meetings, processing letters, and monitoring cases.
* Referring to specialists regarding employee health and absence issues.
* Advising on employment lifecycle matters such as holiday calculations, Working Time Regulations, and contractual issues.
* Supporting recruitment and onboarding processes in collaboration with the local team.
* Identifying recurring issues and implementing solutions.
* Coaching and training managers on HR policies and best practices.
* Assisting with change management exercises like shift reviews and restructures.
* Reviewing and updating policies and internal processes.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience:
* Proven experience as a HR Advisor managing complex ER matters.
* Strong understanding of employment law and best practices.
* Excellent written communication and influencing skills.
* Flexibility to meet the needs of key stakeholders and think creatively.
* Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 depending on experience.
