Are you an Accounts Assistant looking for a varied role with real exposure across finance? Do you enjoy being hands-on in a collaborative environment?
We’re hiring an Accounts Assistant to support a Financial Controller within a growing engineering business delivering specialist installation projects. This is a broad, practical role with a strong focus on the sales ledger, alongside wider involvement across finance, admin, and reporting. You’ll be part of a small team, where flexibility and a willingness to get stuck in are key.
WISH LIST
* Experience managing or supporting a sales ledger
* Comfortable working across multiple systems (ideally Sage or similar)
* Proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership
THE ROLE
* Generate and issue sales invoices and credit notes
* Post and code transactions into the accounting system
* Maintain and reconcile the customer ledger
* Act as first point of contact for customer queries
* Set up and manage customer accounts and contract data
* Process expenses and credit card receipts
* Input weekly timesheets into internal systems
* Provide support across purchase ledger when needed
* Assist with subcontractor payments and invoice approvals
* Support audit queries and documentation requests
* Produce ad hoc reports and analysis for senior finance
* Contribute to process improvements across finance and admin
YOUR PROFILE
* Effective communicator – written & verbal
* Good working knowledge of MS Excel
* High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
* Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
