We are seeking dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, or Social Workers to join our Liaison Psychiatry Services. Vacancies are available in the boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow, with services provided at Ealing Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital.
The team comprises Consultant Liaison Psychiatrists, Trainee doctors, Foundation Year doctors, Liaison Psychiatry Practitioners, and Team Administrators. Office spaces are located within the hospitals we serve, fostering strong relationships with clinicians and managers.
If you possess good clinical skills and are motivated to develop your knowledge and practice, this role is suitable for you. We promote learning and professional development, offering opportunities to work autonomously with team support. We prioritize team wellbeing and cohesion to ensure quality care and enhance patient and carer experiences.
Our commitment is to provide a standard of care we would be happy for our loved ones to receive. If this aligns with your motivation as a practitioner, you will fit well within our teams, and we will support your caring attitude.
We also support obtaining a certificate of sponsorship.
Your responsibilities include undertaking biopsychosocial assessments for patients attending the Urgent Treatment Centre or Emergency Department, or admitted on medical wards with mental health needs. Patients may present with emotional problems, self-harm, psychiatric crises, psychosomatic disorders, or psychological issues related to physical health.
We serve patients aged 16 and above, including CAMHS patients, those living with Dementia, and older and adult patients.
You will provide person-centered care, make autonomous decisions based on complex assessments, and have access to clinical supervision. Promoting carer and family involvement and liaising with other health and social care colleagues for safe discharge planning are integral parts of the role.
You will also offer training to peers and colleagues to improve patient care and be encouraged to share ideas for service improvement.
