Junior CAD Technician Permanent Full-Time
Salary - Circa £22,500 DOE
Location - Office based in Somercotes

As a Junior CAD Draughtsperson, you'll play an integral role within a busy CAD Office, supporting the design and development of industry-leading mineral processing equipment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the start of their career, whether you're a recent school, college or university leaver, with a passion for engineering design and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to
Creating accurate 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models (ideally using SolidWorks) across a diverse product range
Supporting engineering projects from concept through to production, ensuring drawings meet technical and quality standards
Assisting with the generation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing data using internal systems
Liaising with cross-functional teams across the UK and internationally to ensure a smooth design-to-production handover
Developing your understanding of heavy engineering processes, including welding, casting, and machining
Maintaining clear documentation and ensuring all design work is correctly stored and version-controlled
Contributing to a collaborative team environment while meeting deadlines and managing multiple design tasks effectivelyExperiences required
A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject (e.g. GCSEs with relevant technical training, BTEC, HNC/HND or Degree)
Basic experience or exposure to 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor, Onshape, Fusion 360, Creo, CATIA, etc.) - training will be provided
A genuine interest in engineering design and manufacturing processes such as welding, casting, fabrication, and machining
Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to contribute as part of a supportive teamPackage
