Job overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Specialist Therapy Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a fun-loving 14‑year‑old boy with complex care needs. This is a school-based role supporting this bubbly young boy with his daily care, therapy programmes, and communication needs. The successful candidate will be someone who is kind, caring, reliable and supportive.

Who you will support

Our client has a brain injury and a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. He is a fulltime wheelchair user and is dependent on adults to meet all of his needs. He needs full support with his daily activities, including movement and communication and receives all his nutritional and fluid requirements via PEG. You will be warmly supported by the therapy team, who will provide full training in safe manual handling, PEG‑related routines, facilitating therapy sessions, and using communication strategies so you feel confident and comfortable in your role. He is a joyful young boy who loves music, listening to stories, sensory play, water activities, and spending time with others. He thrives on positive interaction and benefits greatly from gentle, engaging, and consistent therapeutic support throughout the school day.

We are offering excellent rates of pay and are keen to find someone to join the team long term as continuity of therapy and building trust is very important for this child and his family. This is a very rewarding role in which you will be making a positive impact in the child’s life.
